Mr. Ong Keng Yong, Ambassador-at-Large, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore, visited ERIA Annex Office on 27th May 2010.
Mr. Hidetoshi Nishimura, Executive Director, ERIA, welcomed Mr. Ong Keng Yong and explained the progress of ERIA over the past three years and thanked Singapore for supporting the growth of ERIA, especially during its early times.
He also mentioned the research mandate of ERIA as received from ASEAN Summit, East Asia Summit as well as the requests for research coming from the ASEAN Secretariat. Mr. Ong Keng Yong expressed his expectation that ERIA would be jointly held by the member countries as a regional think thank and advised ERIA to synergize its works with the ASEAN Secretariat.
