Chairman of Japan Research Institute, Mr. Jitsuro Terashima called on Executive Director of ERIA, Mr. Hidetoshi Nishimura on March 24th,2010.

Mr. Nishimura briefly described the progress of ERIA's activities in the recent years. The two sides exchanged views on international issues of mutual concern.

Mr. Terashima welcomed the efforts that ERIA has done so far, saying, "ERIA could assume a critical role in assisting ASEAN countries through rigorous and balanced analyses of ASEAN's integration process." He also added that Japan has to strengthen the capacity of encouraging the talent and information dissemination. They promised to develop collaborative relationships each other in the future.
