President of ERIA Meets Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to ASEAN

Jakarta, 4 April 2024: President of ERIA, Tetsuya Watanabe, met with H.E. Ambassador Lee Jang -Keun, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to ASEAN in a courtesy call. Ambassador Lee extended a warm welcome to President Watanabe and his delegation.

President Watanabe expressed his appreciation for the enduring support of the Republic of Korea towards ERIA. He particularly recognised Ambassador Lee’s valuable contribution during the meetings between ERIA and Ambassadors of ASEAN’s Dialogue Partners. President Watanabe also initiated discussions on potential avenues to further strengthen collaboration between ERIA and Australia.

Ambassador Lee commended ERIA's contributions to regional research and engagement. He also expressed appreciation for ERIA's collaboration on the previous year's blue economy seminar held at the ERIA office.  President Watanabe provided an overview of ERIA's research, highlighting areas like the digital innovation, public health, and SMEs. Ambassador Lee expressed a desire for closer collaboration between ERIA and research institutes in Korea.
