Outcome of the 14th ASEAN Japan Summit

The 14th ASEAN-Japan Summit, chaired by H.E. Dr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, President of the Republic of Indonesia, was held on 18 November 2011 in Bali, Indonesia. The Heads of State/Government of the ASEAN Member States had a very productive meeting with H.E. Mr. Yoshihiko Noda, Prime Minister of Japan.
In the Chairman's Statement, ASEAN leaders expressed the appreciation to feasibility studies in Myanmar initiated by ERIA in paragraph 8, and one of ERIA's major activities, CADP is mentioned in paragraph 14.

8. The ASEAN leaders also expressed the appreciation for Japan's decision to implement feasibility studies in Myanmar, initiated by Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) with the use of Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF), which will make an important contribution to enhancement of ASEAN Connectivity. Japan welcomed ASEAN's decision to have Myanmar assume ASEAN's Chairmanship for the 2014.

14. ......We also recognized the importance on the enhancement of connectivity with the other areas in East Asia, and underlined to promote the idea of "connectivity master plan plus", with appropriate reference to the Comprehensive Asia Development Plan (CADP).
