Indonesia's Deputy Minister for Women Affairs Meets ERIA Representatives

Jakarta, 21 June 2024: Prof. Akiko Yamanaka, Special Adviser to the President of ERIA, and Dr Giulia Ajmone Marsan, Head of Startups and Inclusion at ERIA/E-DISC, met with H.E. Indra Gunawan, Deputy Minister for Community Participation, Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KPPPA), Republic of Indonesia, and his team. Kazuo Chujo and Yusuke Nakao, representatives from the Embassy of Japan to Indonesia, also joined the meeting.

During the meeting, participants discussed future collaborations under the newly launched ERIA-ASEAN IPR project on Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) and Women in the Digital Economy (WDE): Understanding Synergies for the Future of ASEAN. Deputy Minister Indra Gunawan and Prof. Yamanaka reiterated their shared support for WPS and WDE, and discussed ongoing and future collaborations on women entrepreneurship, women-led startups, and the promotion of women in the digital economy.

ERIA, ASEAN IPR, and the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection will continue to work together during the next phases of the project and other joint activities.
