Hanoi, 23 October 2024: Following ERIA’s visit to the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) in April 2024, ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe and H.E. Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Duy Bac, HCMA Standing Vice President, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Hanoi on Wednesday, 23 October 2024.

This MoU aims to strengthen collaboration between the two institutions, particularly in knowledge exchange, joint research, policy development, executive training programmes, and dialogue with stakeholders and the public. The MoU encompasses cooperation on economic, social, and sustainability issues.

On the same day, ERIA and HCMA co-organised a closed-door seminar themed ‘Leadership, Sustainable Development Management, Digital and Green Transformation: Experiences of Southeast Asia, Japan, and Viet Nam.’ The seminar commenced with opening remarks from the heads of both institutions, who reaffirmed their commitment to mutually beneficial cooperation.

During the seminar, President Watanabe introduced ERIA’s background and activities to officials and experts from HCMA. Prof. Nobuhiro Aizawa and Daisuke Kiuchi gave presentations on the ERIA School of Government and the Asia Zero Emission Center, respectively. Two deputy directors from HCMA also shared their research findings on the green economy and public policy leadership. The event concluded with an engaging discussion amongst participants.
