Jakarta, 4 June 2024: ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe welcomed Andrew Ure, Google’s Managing Director of Government Affairs and Public Policy for Southeast Asia, at ERIA’s office in Jakarta.

Acknowledging Southeast Asia as one of the fastest-growing regions in digital transformation, both parties exchanged perspectives and insights on how the region could benefit from advanced technologies such as AI. ERIA and Google expressed a keen interest in exploring potential areas for collaboration to support the continued success of ASEAN’s digital economy.

President Watanabe was joined by Jeremy Gross, Director for Mekong Affairs and Capacity Building; Daisuke Nakayama, Manager for Digital Transformation; and Tomy Waskitho, Executive Secretary to the President and Research Associate. The Google delegation included Agung Pamungkas, Manager of Government Affairs and Public Policy for Google Indonesia.
