Ha Noi, 22 April 2024: ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe paid a courtesy visit to HE Professor Nguyen Xuan Thang, a Politburo Member of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA), during his official visit to Ha Noi to attend the ASEAN Future Forum 2024.

President Watanabe provided a snapshot of ERIA’s activities, mainly on digital economy and innovation and energy transition, while Prof Thang provided details of the HCMA's activities. Both leaders exchanged views on the key challenges and opportunities in the region to move forward.

President Watanabe presented Prof Thang with ERIA’s publication Viet Nam 2045: Development and Issues. Both parties agreed to explore more concrete cooperation in areas supporting both the wellbeing of Viet Nam society and the region as a whole.
