Vientiane, 8 October 2024: ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), on the sidelines of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Vientiane, Lao PDR.

During the meeting, President Watanabe introduced ERIA's recent activities and highlighted its key focus areas to H.E. Armida Alisjahbana, who previously served as a member of the ERIA Governing Board.

The discussion focused on exploring potential collaboration on climate change issues and energy transition. Both parties also noted the ongoing progress of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between ERIA and UNESCAP, which establishes a solid foundation for deepening future cooperation and joint initiatives.
