Ha Noi, 25 February 2025: ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Committee for Policy and Strategy (CCPS) of the Communist Party of Viet Nam. The meeting was also attended by H.E. Nguyen Hong Son, Deputy Chairman of the Committee, along with high-level representatives from both ERIA and the CCPS. 

During the meeting, President Watanabe provided an update on the progress of the joint research initiative between ERIA and CCPS, focusing on Viet Nam’s economic growth model and energy transition. H.E. Quang welcomed the visit and expressed his appreciation for the strong cooperative relationship between the two institutions.

Both leaders also engaged in discussions on the current global economic landscape and the evolving energy transition, highlighting the importance of strategic policymaking in these areas. They also explored potential areas for future collaboration, including policy advisory support, training and capacity-building programmes for officials, and joint research on key emerging issues.

The meeting reaffirmed ERIA’s commitment to supporting Viet Nam’s policy development through evidence-based research and capacity-building initiatives, further strengthening the partnership between ERIA and the CCPS.
