Tokyo, 20 December 2024: ERIA President Tetsuya Watanabe moderated the keynote panel at the ASEAN–Japan Co-Creation Forum in Tokyo. The forum, held on 20 December 2024, featured prominent speakers, including H.E. Dr Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN, and Professor Shujiro Urata, Chairman Emeritus of RIETI, Japan.

The panel delved into emerging global trends, the challenges facing ASEAN’s path to further development, and the pivotal role of Japan as a trusted partner in addressing these issues. Discussions underscored the importance of fostering collaboration and co-creation to shape a shared and prosperous future for ASEAN and Japan.

President Watanabe’s moderation facilitated a dynamic exchange of insights, reinforcing the commitment to deepening the ASEAN–Japan partnership amidst evolving regional and global landscapes.

In the following sessions, Dr Aladdin D. Rillo, ERIA’s Managing Director for Policy Design and Operations, moderated the AI session, while Dr Alloysius Joko Purwanto, ERIA's Energy Economist, spoke as a panellist at the session on Next Generation Vehicles.
