ERIA organized the 3rd  AEC Scorecard  Phase Two Workshop on September 14th -15th, 2011 in Ubud, Bali. This workshop was attended by 26 participants including members of the ERIA Research Institutes Network (RIN) and four high level technical officials of the ASEAN Secretariat.

The AEC Scorecard was designed  to monitor the level of compliance in the implementation of the measures stipulated in the  AEC Blueprint. The objective of the AEC Blueprint is  to create a highly competitive single market which will  promote equitable economic development for ASEAN Member States while facilitating  their integration with the global community. The ERIA AEC Scorecard, on the other hand, assesses the degree of implementation and implementation gaps for both liberalization and facilitation measures in the AEC Blueprint.

During the workshop, the participants deliberated on the key findings from the draft country reports presented by members of ERIA's RIN. They also exchanged views on the recommendations that were put forward to address the challenges faced by ASEAN Member States in the implementation of the measures in the AEC Blueprint. They further discussed  how to improve the current AEC Scorecard and also how to institutional a mechanism to conduct the AEC Scorecard Monitoring System.
