Jakarta, 27 December 2024: ERIA expresses its profound condolences on the passing of India’s former Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, who passed away on Thursday, 26 December 2024, at the age of 92.

Dr Singh was the recipient of the Grand Prize at the 2nd Asia Cosmopolitan Awards in 2014, an honour bestowed biennially to individuals or organisations that have made significant contributions to fostering a peaceful and stable East Asian Community. The award also recognises efforts to narrow development gaps in the region and promote sustainable social growth towards cultural and economic integration within East Asia.

Renowned for his wisdom, humility, and tireless dedication to improving the world, Dr Singh’s legacy as a visionary leader and advocate for cooperation and prosperity will endure.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, the people of India, and everyone mourning this profound loss.
