Jakarta, 2 December 2024: The Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), in partnership with the Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK), EY Malaysia, and the Securities Commission Malaysia (as the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum [ACMF] Chair for 2025), successfully hosted the Indonesian Visioning Workshop in Jakarta on 2 December 2024. The workshop aimed to shape the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) Action Plan 2026–2030, building on the achievements of the current action plan, which concludes in 2025 during Malaysia's ASEAN Chairmanship.
The event brought together over 20 participants, including representatives from Indonesia’s capital market associations, market infrastructures, publicly listed companies, and OJK officials. In his opening remarks, Mr Inarno Djajadi, Chief Executive of Capital Market, Financial Derivative, and Carbon Exchange Supervision at OJK, applauded the collaborative efforts in developing the Action Plan and encouraged participants to leverage their expertise to provide valuable contributions. Mr Noor Azmizi Abdul Malek, Deputy Director of Strategy and Research at the Securities Commission Malaysia, provided the context for the forthcoming Action Plan.
The workshop featured sessions focused on the four strategic thrusts endorsed by ACMF Chairs in October 2024. These sessions included group discussions and presentations of key priorities and initiatives, moderated by representatives from the Securities Commission Malaysia, EY Malaysia, and ERIA. The discussions emphasised collecting insights, identifying challenges, and formulating actionable recommendations from the perspective of Indonesia's capital market stakeholders.
Ms Retno Ici, Advisor to the Board of Commissioners for the Capital Markets Sector at OJK, urged participants to actively share their expertise to shape the ACMF Action Plan 2026–2030. She also highlighted Indonesia's adoption of ASEAN standards, such as the ASEAN Green, Social, and Sustainability-linked Bonds Standards, since 2018.
The workshop concluded with a reaffirmation of the commitment to integrate the participants' ideas and recommendations into the Action Plan. Continuous engagement and collaboration were emphasised as essential for ensuring the Action Plan’s successful development. ERIA, the Securities Commission Malaysia, and EY Malaysia were thanked for their invaluable support in organising and facilitating the workshop.
