ERIA and the OECD will sign an MOU for Cooperation at the OECD in Paris on May 5, 2014

Paris, 3 May 2014: ERIA and the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) will sign a three-year term MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) at the OECD in Paris, France for cooperation in matters related to development in Southeast Asia (SEA).

In the presence of H.E. Mr. Toshihiro Nikai, former Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Japan who contributed to the creation of ERIA, Prof Hidetoshi Nishimura, Executive Director of ERIA and H.E. Mr Angel Gurria, Secretary-General of the OECD will sign the MOU for collaborations in the activities in the Southeast Asia in the areas of (1) policies to support SMEs and foster entrepreneurship (2) investment in infrastructure through the use of PPPs (3) analysis on trade-in value-added and global value chains, and (4) disaster risk assessment and risk financing.

The two international organizations will share their knowledge and experiences in the development in the SEA, and conduct joint projects, symposia, and workshops at a regional level.

The signing ceremony will be held in the Room G at the OECD (2 rue Andre Pascal, 75116 Paris, France) from 16:30 to 16:45 local time on 5 May 2014.
