On behalf of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), Professor Hidetoshi Nishimura, the President of ERIA, gives the following statement upon the death of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej

"I would like to express my sincere condolences to the people of Thailand and the Royal Family on the death of the beloved King Bhumibol Adulyadej. His Majesty was a true leader, tirelessly championing his country and the well-being of his people. The King was a valued friend of ASEAN and East Asia who promoted peace and development and will be mourned across the whole region."
