The 3rd ASEAN & Asia Forum titled "Asia's Rise, ASEAN's Future" organized by Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA) and supported by ERIA was held in Singapore on 6 October 2010. Around 350 participants shared insights and critical perspectives about the region's economic and political conditions. The forum also addressed new challenges ahead for the people of ASEAN and Asia.

Professor Simon Tay, Chairman of SIIA welcomed speakers and participants, which was then followed by keynote address by Mr. Zainul Abidin Rasheed, Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Singapore. Mr. Hidetoshi Nishimura, Executive Director of ERIA, participated as a lead panelist and highlighted the vast potential of the region. His presentation was well received by theaudiences.

The last session of the forum was dedicated to a dialogue with Dr. Surin Pitsuwan, Secretary-General of ASEAN. He shared his views on ASEAN's promising role in the world economy. The Forum was conducted successfully and was appreciated by the participants, speakers as well as sponsors including ERIA.
