Stefan is the Director of Communications and Publications at ERIA. This follows stints at the Tokyo-based Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in Hiroshima. Prior to this, he spent 12 years with The Economist Intelligence Unit in London where he served as Senior Editor/Europe, Senior Economist, Senior Analyst, and author on world trade and the European Union. He was also a consultant economist at the Economist Advisory Group in London and at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for External Relations in Brussels, where he was involved in the EU’s activities related to external trade and foreign direct investment.
Stefan holds a B.A. in Economics and a postgraduate Diploma in Management, Economics, and Politics from the University of St Andrews in Scotland. He also earned an M.A. in European Political Co-operation and Economic Integration from the University of Durham and an M.Phil. in International Relations from the University of Cambridge, England.
