Asuka Nagatani was the Senior Policy Officer of Healthcare and Long-Term Care Policy at ERIA and handles contributions for healthcare and social welfare agendas in ASEAN and East Asia, such as Universal Health Coverage, Ageing, Access and Delivery, and other region-wide project until August 2024.

Prior to joining ERIA, she served as an official of JETRO, the Japan External Trade Organisation, to support Japanese start-ups and small- to middle-sized enterprises to export overseas and to help nurture industries in developing countries. From 2017 to 2021, she was engaged in support for Japanese medical device companies, bio start-ups, and related healthcare industries to create collaborations with initiatives from Asia, the US, and Europe.
