Afifah Patriani is a pharmacist and public health practitioner with a strong interest in research and the implementation of health projects.
Before joining ERIA’s healthcare unit in January 2025 as a project coordinator, she worked as an evaluator of bioequivalence study reports in the Drug Registration Directorate of the Indonesian FDA (BPOM) and as a research assistant at the Indonesia Research Partnership on Infectious Diseases (INA-RESPOND) in Yogyakarta.
In 2024, Afifah participated in an implementation research project that aimed to explore the challenges posed by a new policy for the pharmaceutical industry. The findings of the research were compiled into a policy brief for the Ministry of Health of Indonesia, offering recommendations to support the further development of the pharmaceutical ecosystem. She had also previously conducted an implementation research project assessing the fidelity of a malaria screening programme for forest-goers in Kalimantan.
In addition to her primary role as an evaluator and research assistant, Afifah has experience managing site budgets, handling databases, organising seminars and expert meetings, and overseeing clinical research administration.
