Vietnam and Japan are two countries with a long-term relationship, a natural connection between the two countries in the Asia-Pacific region, and the two nations have many similarities. This cohesion is considered a historical characteristic. Japan is one of the earliest countries to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam. Since the two countries established the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Asia's Peace and Prosperity, the relationship between the two countries has been continuously consolidated and developed in many fields. On the journey of more than 35 years of the Renewal and 50 years since the two countries established diplomatic relations (September 21, 1973 - September 21, 2023), Japan has always supported and accompanied Vietnam in its progress in the Socio-economic development program and is Vietnam's leading official development aid (ODA) provider.

Bach Mai Hospital in collaboration with the Medical Excellence Japan (MEJ) and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) organized the 2nd MEV -MEJ forum meeting on the prevention of non-communicable diseases on June 27th, 2023 at the Hospital. The conference aims to promote cooperation, tighten the friendship between the two countries, and strengthen cooperation in the health sector.
