Digitalization is now a key to enable economic growth amidst COVID-19. Cross-border data flows (CBDF) become more vital to support the growth of digital transformation across all sectors. In the region, mechanisms for encouraging cross-border data flows to stimulate innovation and economic growth still need to be promoted at the national and regional level. The commitment of the ASEAN countries towards a regional integration could be leveraged towards that purpose.
