Sao Paulo, 9-12 September 2024: ERIA, through its Digital Innovation and Sustainable Economy Centre (E-DISC), continues to deepen its engagement with G20 bodies. Dr Giulia Ajmone Marsan, ERIA’s Head of Startups and Inclusion and member of the ESG Task Force of Startup20, represented ERIA at the concluding Startup20 Summit, the G20 engagement group focused on startups and innovation.

The Summit was inaugurated by Marcio França, Minister of Entrepreneurship, Microenterprise and Small Business of Brazil; Dan Ioschpe, Chair of Business 20 (B20); and Ingrid Barth, Startup20 Chair and President of the Association of Brazilian Startups.

Dr Ajmone Marsan took part in several working meetings with international delegations, reviewing Startup20 Brazil’s work and preparing for the upcoming South African Presidency. She engaged with delegations from Brazil, India, Turkey, Germany, Saudi Arabia, the US, Singapore, and South Africa.

During her visit to Brazil, Dr Ajmone Marsan also toured the innovation centres at the University of São Paulo (USP), one of South America's leading universities. She explored potential collaborations with Prof. Paulo Nussenzveig, Pro-Rector for Research and Innovation, and his deputy, Prof. Raul Lima, under the OECD EECOLE initiative, a global effort to foster innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems, where Dr Ajmone Marsan serves as Chair of the Steering Committee.
