Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) together with Ministry of Industry and Trade Viet Nam organized the ERIA Capacity Building Symposium in Ha Noi, Viet Nam, on August 12, 2014, supported by Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM), Viet Nam, Bangkok Research Center (BRC), JETRO Bangkok and JETRO Ha Noi. The Symposium was held at Intercontinental Hanoi Westlake Hotel, Viet Nam.
The symposium focused on 'Upgrading Viet Nam's Position towards AEC 2015 and beyond'. Over 100 Vietnamese representatives from concerned ministries, private sectors and think-tanks attend the one-day symposium to promote their overall capacity to fulfill the economic integration under the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).
The symposium also attended by H.E. Le Luong Minh, Secretary General of ASEAN to give his keynote speech, H.E. Nguyen Cam Tu, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Viet Nam and Prof. Hidetoshi Nishimura, Executive Director of ERIA
