ERIA organised an International Workshop on Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) on 5 May 2013 at the ERIA annex office, Jakarta.

Researchers and Academia from the East Asia Summit countries attended the workshop. ERIA Researchers also participated in the workshop. The workshop discussed the best way forward for the RCEP negotiations in terms of the diversities that it would face in consolidating the ASEAN+1 FTAs and also the priority areas that need to be negotiated under the RCEP.

A wide range of issues such as tariff, investments, market access, capacity building, economic cooperation and institutionalization process were discussed. The workshop agreed to produce a Report which will contain the gist of the discussions and present it to policy makers in the region.
